March in Motion 2011

Dear Parents,

March in Motion 2011 is on! The camp will run the week of March Break on Tuesday to Thursday March 15-17.
This year, we will have three different groups: Preschool ages 2-4, School-age ages 5-9 and Juniors ages 10-16.

This year's theme is on Prayer

The Preschoolers will learn to pray with Teacher Jean, the School-agers will learn how and when to pray to our Heavenly Father, the Juniors will be prayerfully working on a special film project with Teacher Eugene.

Sports and Bible Camp CHANGES!

Dear Parents,

We have smaller numbers registered this year and a very full summer ahead. As a result, we've decided to run our sports and Bible camp for three days only. It will be held from Tuesday to Thursday July 27, 28, and 29. Please note the changes also in Registration fee. Also, parents of student leaders, we have changed the format of the camp so that leadership training on Monday is no longer necessary for this camp.

Dates: Tuesday July 27 to Thursday July 29th.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Ages: 2-12

Annual Easter Egg Hunt is On!!! - Easter Sunday April 2, 2010 right after service

Dear Parents,

Our annual Easter Egg hunt will take place on Sunday April 4th after our Easter Service. We have some made some changes this year to make the hunt more fun and challenging for our children.

Firstly, we will have four distinct designated areas for different groups of children:

1) PRESCHOOL GROUP - Children ages 1, 2, and 3 - that is, all the kids in the big house - will be hunting for eggs on the upper part of the church property in front of the big house and between the house and the main chapel.

2) JK/SK GROUP - Children in junior and senior kindergarten will be searching for eggs in the playground area on the lower land...a distinct boundary will be made clear. Students must stay within these boundaries

3) GRADES 1-3 GROUP - Children in grades 1-3 will be on the lower land (soccer field/picnic area) A distinct boundary will be marked off

4) JUNIOR HIGH GROUP - Students in grade 4 and older will be hunting for eggs behind the pond, on top of the hill and all the areas in between the other designated areas...

Parents,
We will need your help with the following:

1) Ensuring your child goes to the right designated area

2) Supervising your child for safety during the hunt

3) Dressing your child in the proper footwear to bear the elements that day...whatever the weather!

4) Returning the empty egg shells to the teacher with the "egg bag" in your designated area

Also, one child in each of the designated areas (except preschool) will have a chance at finding the special "PRIZE EGG" which contains a ticket indicating he/she has won the special prize. A teacher will be onsite with the special prize to award to the child who has found the special egg.

One more thing - we have over 1000 eggs full of goodies this year, so please go ahead and use this as an opportunity to invte friends, neighbours and family.

Once again, during this year's March break, Pebbles Children's Ministry will be hosting March in Motion, our annual March Break Camp.

This year's theme is : The Beatitudes: God's way to Happiness

The details are as follows:

Monday March 15th: Leadership training 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (group leaders only)
Tues March 16th - Thurs 18th : March in Motion 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Two groups: Preschool - Ages 2-4 and School-age - Ages 5-12
Cost: RCC Members: 1 child - $60, 2 children - $100, 3 children - $125

Hallelulah Children's Party - October 31st, 2009 - 2pm - 3pm

Join us on October 31st, 2009 between 2pm and 6pm for a Hallelujah extravaganza! We have the privilege this year of enjoying Halloween on a Saturday so please invite all your family and friends to join us for games, prizes and even a special puppet show that will be presenting the gospel message every hour throughout the day. Don't forget, there will be a costume contest for the best dressed individual and family, so start planning now! Announcing our new Youth Worship Service!

Praise the Lord! As of the first Sunday of September, our growing youth group now has a place of worship they can call their own. Thanks to many helpful hands, some sweat, and even some shedding of blood (thanks, Young!) we were able to transform our little chapel into a warm, cozy place where all our youth ages 10 to 18 can come and participate in a worship service, made just for them. Every Sunday, the PB&J Youth band leads the group in worship, followed by a message and discussion time led by our Sunday School teachers. If you haven't come and checked it out yet, come and by and spread the word to all the youth , that they have this place to enter his gates with thanksgiving."

What a blessed Sports and Bible Camp!

Summer is just around the corner and so is our annual Sports and Bible Camp! This year, we will have three groups: Preschoolers (ages 2-3) , Primary (ages 4-7) and Junior (ages 8-12). Coach Rosan, Coach Daniel and Coach Jen will be heading up a Sports camp in the mornings that will include activities and games that introduce children to a variety of different sports. Another Kindergarten Information Session

For parents who missed our first information session about our upcoming Kindergarten class, another session will be held on Tuesday June 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at church. In addition to learning the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic, this class will have a special afternoon French Immersion component. The Ten Commandments T-shirts turned out really terrific and the kids really love them! You can really see all of the artwork very clearly and they make really great keepsakes from our March in Motion camp, as well as a cool gift idea for any child to wear. This year's first-ever March Break Bible Camp was a truly Spirit-filled event and we all had a total blast! The kids and teachers alike enjoyed learning about God's law in the Ten Commandments in all kinds of creative and interactive ways. Check out these photos from the week's events. Praise be to God for smiling down on us during this week and giving us the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with several children who had never heard it before!

MOPS to begin again this Tuesday April 21st. Theme: Public Speaking

Hello MOPS! (Mothers of Preschoolers and School-age Homeschoolers)

Our next four week session of MOPS is beginning this Tuesday April 21st. The theme for this session is Public Speaking.

Preschoolers will be memorizing a Scripture passage and learn to present it with a presenter's stance, voice and confidence. We'll also play games, do crafts and and various activities to review our letters and numbers. School-age children will be writing and presenting a 3 minute speech based on a Scripture passage and a PBS (Personal bible Study).

Whether you can make it for all four weeks: April 21st, April 28th, May 5th and May 12th, or for one or two days only, please come and join in the fun.

Our worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. follwed by classes and lunch at 12:30 p.m. (BYOL- Bring Your Own Lunch)

How to use an Epipen: Please watch!

Dear Parents and Teachers,
As some of you may already know, my son, Joshua has a severe allergy to many food products including dairy, egg, and nuts. Earlier this week he accidentally consumed half a cup of milk, and went into anaphylactic shock, with his airway closing within a minute. Thankfully, I was able to administer his Epipen, which ended up saving his life until the paramedics could arrive. I would like to host a seminar for all teachers and parents within the next couple of weeks at church on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of anaphylactic shock and how to properly administer an Epipen. In the mean time, I would so greatly appreciate if you could watch this instructional video. Connor Hsu, Nathan Khang, Jacob Kim, and Joshua Chang are the kids in our Sunday School that have life-threatening nut allergies. As their teachers, please be sure that you know exactly where their Epipens are and that you know how to use it. Praise the Lord for creating epipens because they really do save lives!

Ten Commandments T-shirt Sale

Dear Parents,
What a privilege it is to worship and fellowship in the Word with our children. Our March in Motion camp was a huge success and we know the Lord was in control of it all. The children not only memorized the ten commandments, they also painted, colored, created, acted, analyzed and cheered the Law of the Lord.

Our very own Tammy Kim has taken the art pieces with which the children represented the ten commandments and has designed a T-shirt logo.

We are selling the T-shirts in various children's sizes for $20 each. Proceeds from the sale will go directly to paying for outstanding camp expenses and into Pebbles Children's ministry.

They are a wonderful testimony of the beauty of God's unchanging Law and a souvenir of a most memorable week in God's Word.

Whether your child attended the camp or not, the T-shirts are available for you. Simply email me the name of your child and his/her T-shirt size (or his/her age) and I will have them available ASAP.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make our first ever March in Motion a truly moving experience for everyone!

Thank you so much to all the parents and students who helped make this year's March in Motion a huge success. As only God can do, He brought everything together and His Spirit ministered so much to me, especially through the amazing worship with PB & J, the children's enthusiastic questions and wonder at the Word of God. A special congratulations and thanks to all our group leaders: Arthur, Kuhn, Autumn, Emma and Ryan. You did a fantastic job of leading your groups in such a variety of activities. Great job!

Dear Parents,

Registration is now full for March in Motion 2009. Thank you to all parents who signed up. Please pray for a Spirit-filled camp where the words of our Lord will penetrate each young heart and where the truth will truly set them free. For those who were unable to attend this camp, please keep your eyes peeled for more upcoming Pebbles events. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers/School-age homeschoolers) will start again on Tuesday April 21st, for four weeks. Our theme this time is "Public Speaking." Soccer Camp this year will be July 27-30th. Registration will begin in May. Don't forget to register early as spaces fill up fast!

If the winter chill is getting the kids down, its time to set their minds and hearts in motion. March in Motion is our first annual March Break Camp. The dates are March 16-19 and it is open to all children ages 1-12. We will have a common worship with our very own PB&J (Praise Band for Jesus) followed by two separate classes: School age (ages 4-12) upstairs in the main chapel and Preschool (ages 1-3) downstairs in the chapel basement. Congratulations on Noah's Baby Dedication!

Congratulations also go out to Dave and Linda Kim, on their first son, Noah's baby dedication this past Sunday. Noah Davis Kim was born on February 13, 2008, and just recently celebrated his first birthday. Noah means peace and rest, and Davis means son of David. Pastor Sung prayed that just as his name suggests, Noah is filled with peace and rest and that he be a source of peace and rest to others, as he leads them to the Lord. God bless his little soul!

Congratulations on Zachary's Baby Dedication!

Congratulations to Mike and Julie Song, on their first son, Zachary's baby dedication last Sunday February 22, 2009. Zachary was born last March 22, 2008 and has brought hope and delight to his parents and family. Zachary's name comes from the name, Zechariah, which means "God remembers." Pastor Sung prayed that Zachary will always remember the Lord, which is his parents' greatest desire. To Mike and Julie, little Zachary symbolizes the fulfillment of God's promise to them, and as they dedicated him to the Lord this past Sunday, they remember that God is always true to His promises. Praise be to the Lord for the precious gift of children!

What a blessing to hear scripture through the mouth of a child. May we pray for and raise our children by the word of God.

MOPS to begin again on January 20th!

Attention MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers and Home-schoolers),

We are once again starting our Tuesday classes for the Winter session on January 20th from 10:30 - 12:30 followed by BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch). The Winter session will run from January 20th to Feb. 10th, that's every Tuesday for four weeks. This Winter session will be focused on bringing God's word alive with physcial exercise. Preschoolers will learn a Bible verse and relate it to their "punch" of the day, and will also review basic letter and number skills. Older children (5 and up) will learn more specific skills and also relate real Scriptural truths to their bodies and minds. Moms with babies are also welcome to join us for worship and a mom and tot aerobics class. The cost is $30/child. Come join the fun. Email me, Jen Kim, at airjenkim@yahoo.com to register. 2008 Rock Community Church Soccer Camp

The 2008 Rock Community Church Soccer Camp... amazing. God has richly blessed our body with true friends, fellowship, and our children. God is so good and is worthy of our praise! A big THANKS to Jen Kim who organized the event and the countless volunteers who made this camp possible.
